It was one long anticipated return from the start of the day when I had finally started looking forward to dinnertime. In that moment however, there rose a nearly impossible scenario for me to overcome regarding my means of getting back home.

I also remembered the one year long failure which stopped me from keeping a running car. However, that meant when I finally got one, I promised I could always rely on it to take me far away, and always bring me back home.

I knew well how to get it started especially so I could be prepared for emergency situations. And so, a long day turning into a long night of misery was luckily abated, and thus a childhood daydream was fulfilled. I had found a stranger, which continued a long string of strangers, who’ve said no to me in a time of need, and then followed next by a stranger who kindly helped.

My heart was touched when gifted something for doing something nice just a few short hours before. It felt like I needed that gift, but I really wasn’t expecting it. It drew a connection between good deeds and rewards that encourages me to take similar action. As this stranger now has bestowed his kindness upon me, I now await for his eventual good fortune and good reward to come around and greet him with kindness.

The sputtering spark of the engine’s starter failed time and time again. Each trial waning on the components of the vehicle and nailing my chances of returning into a coffin. I honestly expected nothing less than success however, when finally I was given compliance and aide. We positioned our vehicles in a magical array from battery to battery with an umbilical cord to transfer life from one vehicle to another.

In stark contrast to the never ending click and spark of the vehicle moments prior, I was elated by the engine that roared immediately as the button was pressed. Success was sucked up the intake, flushed down the exhaust, tickled my ear and coursed through my veins.

I thanked his generosity and laid back comfortably in my vehicle as it sat ready to fulfill its promises for another day. Putting rubber in motion on the open road lead to a smooth sailing safe trip back to finally home.

I rested tired feet while consuming my belly’s fill, and made a great return to a warm bed. In conclusion, today was a success that I got to start off right in every way, and although the finish could have been a little more stable, it was still a good day.
